Stepping out in Faith is something to be experienced, with
Faith as small as the size of a mustard seed you will find it
will grow. If, you nurture it, (we read in the Bible, in
Matthew), Jesus said, ‘The kingdom of heaven is like this, a
man takes a mustard seed and sows it in his field’ It is the
smallest of all seeds, but when it grows up, it is the biggest
of all plants…It becomes a tree, so that birds come and make
their nests in its branches. As long as you, take the first step.
Just as the man did, by planting the small seed. In the case of
something to be achieved, we must take the first step… We do
not know how the second step will be, if we do not take the
first step in Faith! That is the decision we must take.
Did you ever watch INDIANA JONES? In one of his adventures,
he came to a very deep gorge, he looked down… hundreds of
feet below to a rocky floor…he was being chased by the enemy…
he had a choice, turn and fight to his sure death… or, step into
the unknown…experience another kind of….. what?
He didn’t know what would happen!! What was he going to do?
Looking down, he realised, if he stepped off the edge, it would
be to his death! There was no rope ladder from his side to the
opposite side, that would bring him to safety…..safe from the
enemy! No time to lose, be captured by the enemy (they were
very close behind) or, take that decision to trust in his Faith
before it was too late…
He put his foot forward…in Faith.. what happens!! A wooden
swing bridge takes the weight of his first step…and it springs
across to the other side.. a safe path… to a safer place.
All we need to do is to take that first step afresh
every day, in whatever we feel the Lord is calling us to do…
you won’t regret it…one step forward, and Jesus will do the
rest.
With Him beside you, your Faith will grow! Like the little mustard
Seed… small at first, then a Faith that grows big, as it is nurtured
in His love.
